AI ACT READY CONSULTANT ACADEMY

Learn safely before working with real clients.

This pathway is designed to take someone from first principles through to an internally signed-off, client-ready AI governance consultant. Start small, build confidence, practise on simulated engagements, then prove readiness before using the AI Act Ready delivery tool with a real client.

The rule throughout the Academy

Consultants are trained to explain governance requirements and gather evidence - not to improvise legal advice. When a point is uncertain, material or legally sensitive, the correct behaviour is to document the assumption and escalate it.

Exit outcome: I can analyse a client situation, explain my reasoning and identify what evidence is still missing.
Readiness gate: Pass scenario assessment at 80% and no critical role/classification errors.
Stage 3 · 1-2 days in modules

Implementer

Turn requirements into working governance

Learn how to run the practical work: build controls, evidence, governance routines and a remediation plan using the AI Act Ready tool.

Exit outcome: I can take a client from discovery through a practical, evidence-backed implementation plan.
Readiness gate: Complete the simulated client engagement and produce the required evidence pack.
Stage 4 · Half-day assessment plus review

Client-Ready Consultant

Prove you can do the work safely

Demonstrate client judgement, communication and delivery quality before working independently on a real engagement.

Exit outcome: I am ready to support a real AI Act Ready client within defined scope and escalation rules.
Readiness gate: Internal sign-off after a full case simulation. This is an AI Act Ready readiness badge, not an external accredited certification.
Stage 5 · Advanced / experience-based

Lead & Assurance

Review, challenge and mentor

Advanced pathway for people reviewing other consultants, leading programmes, preparing for audits or coordinating legal, privacy, security and technical specialists.

Exit outcome: I can review another consultant's work, identify weak evidence and lead a complex governance programme.
Readiness gate: Evidence of successful delivery plus advanced review assessment.
